A lobbyist who tracks pending legislation and issues, at the state and national levels which may affect snowmobiling in Maine and represents MSA positions during legislative hearings and workshops. Snowmobiling interests are also represented before government agencies such as the Department of Tourism, Department of Conservation, Inland Fisheries & Wildlife, etc. This spokesperson further represents the MSA before the media through press releases, advisories, media rides and appearances. <Back to Top>

Maine Snowmobiler: Clubs have space for club news; listings for calendar; free classified advertising of club equipment. Clubs/Supporting Businesses receive discounted display advertising rate. Members receive an issue in the mail, Sept. - May to keep them informed about the MSA and snowmobiling in Maine. <Back to Top>
Snowmobile Maine Guide: Copies of the MSA’s annual snowmobiling guide are available for handouts at club events, shows, and supporting businesses, etc. Club list included; membership referrals from Guide. Intangible: educating non-club members about the work of MSA clubs, trails, safety, laws etc., and building relationships with Chambers of Commerce and the Business Community. <Back to Top>
MSA Internet Site: Free links to MSA club’s posted home page; membership referrals from web site, updated trail conditions, calendar of events, MSA news, useful links, etc. Intangible: educating thousands of snowmobilers about the work of MSA clubs, trails, safety, laws etc. Links available to businesses for annual fee of $50. <Back to Top>
ITS Trail Map: Available to all clubs and club members for free. (Non-MSA members are charged $1 shipping and handling). Bulk amounts for clubs available at fall directors meetings, trails workshops or at the office (saves lots of postage). <Back to Top>

Membership Materials, Information, and Processing: Clubs are supplied with the cards, forms, certificates, decals, etc. needed to enroll their membership. Insurance: $2000 Death & Dismemberment policy part of every membership; dependents insurance available for nominal fee for spouses and dependent children under age 19. <Back to Top>
Scholarships: Members of an MSA family (enrolled by Jan. 1 of the application year) are eligible to apply for one of the annual MSA scholarships. Contact the office for an application, information. <Back to Top>
Trails: Trails Committee assists clubs with information, guidance, and inspections of trails. Supplies ITS signs, some safety signage. <Back to Top>
Workshops: Informational trail workshops presented each fall, one held at the Pine Tree Camp in Rome, one in a northern Maine location (usually a clubhouse). Open to all members. <Back to Top>
Meetings: Monthly directors meetings open to all members of MSA. Forum for discussion of MSA and general snowmobiling concerns. Where the clubs, through their directors’ votes, guide the actions of the state association. <Back to Top>
Contact & Assistance: The MSA is structured so that each level can be supported and assisted by the level above - the area coordinators, regional directors and regional vice presidents are available to assist and support the clubs with information, contact, and guidance if it is requested. <Back to Top>
Snowmobile Show(s): The MSA produces the annual Maine Snowmobile Show, and sponsors booths at a number of snowmobile shows throughout the northeast. <Back to Top>
RescueBoggan Program: The association sponsors the Rescue Boggan award program, where one club from each region is awarded half of the purchase/shipping price of a rescue sled. <Back to Top>
